HUGULEY- On Friday, royalty was in the air at the Learning, and Growing Child Care Center, as the 2021 Valentine’s King and Queen were crowned as well as Prince, and Princess.

Miles Sadler was crowned King and Bella Godfrey was crowned Queen. Reece Bonner was crowned Prince and Adalynn Carter

The aforementioned Royal Court was based upon the number of heart grams that were sold on behalf of each child. The heart grams were sold for .50 cents per heart gram, and the top sellers were crowned during a festive Valentine’s Day party at the Learning, and Growing Child Care Center

“We were looking for something fun to do at Valentine’s Day, so we thought we would do heart grams for all the kids giving parents the children hearts, and it just blew up into this amazing display of hearts. In a short period of time, we sold 4,145 hearts made out of construction paper”, said Harlee Crowder with the Learning and Growing Child Care Center

The heart gram fundraiser generated over $2,000, which the L&G Child Center will be putting back into the popular daycare in the Valley.

“It reminds me of the story in the Bible where the little boy brought the basket of fish and bread. He brought what he had to the table, and look what God did with it. Here we are, just two ordinary women, who had a dream, and God blessed it. This isn’t because of us, God did this, he knew that children needed this place, and the community needed a safe Christian environment. God knew our need and blessed it”, said Buffy Jones with the Learning and Growing Child Care Center

Due to the overwhelming success of the heart gram fundraiser, L&G Child Care was able to purchase security cameras, waxing the floors, as well as purchasing a deep freezer, for the kitchen.

According to Crowder, and Jones, the Learning, and Growing Child Care Center is now able to do things that are needed for the children so to make their lives better, and a better experience for all.
