Springwood Head of School, Lowrie McCown stated, “It is exciting to welcome a person with Stephanie Jackson’s background to the staff at Springwood School. Her three-fold expertise in college, career, and personal counseling raises the bar and is a strategic role to better serve the students and families of Springwood School.”

Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia. Soon afterward, she began interning in a School Counseling Intern position in Valdosta, Georgia, where she provided career guidance, crisis counseling, and academic advising. In 2013, Stephanie completed her Master of Education in School Counseling and received her Georgia Educator Certificate and currently maintains that certificate.

After receiving her Masters, Stephanie continued supporting students and worked as a High School Counselor, with responsibilities ranging from creating personalized academic plans with students to coordinating curriculums and developing college readiness workshops. She continued working for Georgia Cyber Academy in Atlanta and took on the role as the lead high school counselor for students in grades 9th-11th. She oversaw a team of counselors and facilitated college visits, including virtual visits, and online programs assisting students in their journey to college acceptance.

Outside of the school, Stephanie is married to James Jackson of LaGrange, Georgia, and has two children, Jay (3) and Sam (8 months). In her spare time, she is a fitness coach at Orangetheory Fitness.
