Sewingmachine.com Awards Five Local Vets For May Quilts Of Valor

WEST POINT- On Saturday, five local veterans received their quilt of valor from sewingmachine.com in West Point in a special ceremony hosted by the Georgia-Alabama State Line Chapter of the Quilts of Valor.

Retired Desert Storm veteran Glenn Wilson of Warm Springs, Georgia, who served in the Army from 1973-1994, U.S. Army veteran Willie Hargrove of Columbus, who served from 1976 to 1998, and served in Operation Desert Storm, U.S. Air Force veteran Clarence Barber of Valley who served from 1950 to 1954, U.S. Air Force veteran Teresa Bookwalter of Daviston, Alabama who served from 1985 to 1998, and served in Desert Storm, and U.S. Marine veteran Alton Calhoun of Thomaston, Georgia who served from 1979 to 2002 were presented their quilt.
