Allen Rose Named New LaFayette High School Principal

The Chambers County School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Allen Rose as the system’s new Principal at LaFayette High School.  Mr. Rose succeeds longtime veteran principal, Mr. Don Turner who is retiring after 30 plus years of service with 29 of those serving the families of Chambers County.  

Mr. Rose was officially hired as the new LHS Principal by the Chambers County School Board at the May 6th, Thursday evening board meeting.   Mr. Rose stood out as one of many experienced candidates that applied for the LHS leadership opportunity.  He comes to the Chambers County School District from his current role as Assistant Principal at Class 7A Central Phenix City High Schoolfrom which he was promoted in 2019.  

Prior to his first administrative opportunity, Mr. Rose taught 8th grade history at South Girard Junior High School in Phenix City in 2018.  He also served as the Junior H.S. Head Football Coach at South Girard.  From 2013 to 2018, Mr. Rose taught history at Phenix City Intermediate School in the Accelerated Academy for 6th and 7th grades.  In 2017, Mr. Rose was honored and named the district wide teacher of the year for the Phenix City School System.  

Mr. Rose was on both active duty and on reserve duty from 2010 to 2016 in the Air Force Reserves.  He was specially trained to work on U.S. Air Force C-130 aircraft during his service time.  He rose to the rank and class of E-5 during his military service time.  

Pictured to the left are new LHS Principal, Mr. Allen Rose, his wife, Charlene and their daughter, Alenea.  Charlene is a kindergarten school teacher with the Phenix-City School System and their daughter Alenea is in the first grade.  Mr. Rose and his family currently reside in Phenix City.  


Mr. Rose graduated from Wetumpka High School in the Elmore County School System in 2003 where he excelled in football, baseball and Track and Field.  He earned a baseball scholarship to Jefferson State Community College where he furthered his education.  After earning his Associates Degree at JSCC, Mr. Rose received a division I baseball scholarship to Jacksonville State University in 2005 where he played first base for the Gamecocks from 2006 to 2008 and helped capture the OVC Conference Championship in 2006.    

In 2009, Rose earned his B.S. degree in History from JSU.  From 2011 to 2013, Rose attended Faulkner University in Montgomery where he completed his add-on certificate in Education earning his Master’s degree.  In 2018, Mr. Rose earned his administration degree from Troy University in instructional leadership.  Early next month on June 4th, Mr. Rose will complete his Ed.S requirements for Instructional Leadership graduating with his next degree step from Troy University.  

Mr. Rose is a committed Educator, Husband and Father that is motivated to put forth his best effort each and everyday on behalf of his students!  He is a team builder that implemented a “Dress for Success” program at both the Intermediate School and the Junior High School levels in Phenix City.  He also made a dramatic impact as a school improvement specialist while serving the Phenix City School System.  Allen Rose stated its only when the students know how much you care about them that they will reciprocate as well as care enough about themselves to reach their goals.

Chambers County Schools Superintendent Casey Chambley is excited for the LaFayette High School staff and student body as he notes it was obvious that Allen Rose had a positive energy and desire to make an impact on youth.  Mr. Rose will be a welcome addition to the LaFayette High School family and community for the Chambers County School System!
