On Wednesday, Chambers County Superintendent Casey Chambley and School Board met in a called meeting as they discussed a variety of topics relating to the school district including COVID-19 measures.
Chambers resident Jerry East, who has children in the CCSD addressed the board with concerns he had ranging from teaching protocol to his displeasure of the mask mandate.
Chambley thanked East for speaking and added that he longs for the day that we can say goodbye to the mask. Chambley also addressed the educational protocol and other issues related to the school system during the called meeting. “I recommend that we continue to enforce the mask, and reevaluate in thirty days”, said Chambley. The board agreed.
On Tuesday, September 28th, Chambers County School District reported the latest COVID-19 numbers from Nurse Cofield which included 6 students testing positive, with zero staff positives, and 10 more students quarantined. This is a decrease from last week that had 19 positive students and 4 positive staff members.
Chambley addressed parents, and friends on Thursday in a Facebook Live post, with a recap of Wednesday’s meeting.
Thank you, Superintendent Chambley, for your transparency.
